Is it really free, or is there a paid plan coming?
The core product is free. Black Flag Alert uses a freemium pricing model — search, scores and alerts cost nothing, with paid add-ons planned as the product grows. Developers who need programmatic access use the Open API, which starts free with a trial key.
Do I need a credit card to register?
No. Registration needs only an email address. We verify it to prevent abuse, but we never collect payment details.
Does every company have a R-Score?
About 3.4 million England & Wales companies carry a R-Score, computed from their filed accounts. Companies that have not filed enough usable accounts show as Unscored — their court and insolvency records are still displayed. That is a data limit, not a paywall.
How do I get API access?
The Open API is live now. Create a self-serve trial key with no card: 14 days, 100 calls and 20 contact lookups per 24 hours. Full reference and signup are on the developers page.
Where does the data come from?
Primary public records only: Companies House filings, HMCTS court records for CCJs, The Gazette for insolvency and winding-up activity, and the charges register. We compute the R-Score ourselves from these sources. We do not resell credit bureau data.
